Calculate BMI
Understanding Your Health Metrics
What is BMI?
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a screening tool used to identify potential weight problems for
adults.
It is a simple calculation using a person's height and weight. The formula is
kg / m².
Note: BMI is not a diagnostic of the body fatness or health of an individual. It does not account for muscle mass, bone density, overall body composition, and racial and sex differences. Athletes with high muscle mass may have a high BMI but not be overweight.
Why track this?
While not perfect, BMI provides a useful baseline for the general population. Staying within a "Healthy" range is statistically associated with lower risks of chronic diseases like heart disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes.
Use this dashboard as a starting point. For a complete picture of your health, consult a medical professional who can perform more advanced metrics like body fat percentage analysis.
